Default Mach 460, ignition whine & bass problem

My goal is to get my Mach 460 working properly. I had a Mach 460 car 10 years ago and I liked it. I just bought a 1994 Cobra and the Mach 460 is not fully functional.

Problem 1) The rear woofers produce a constant fluttering bass noise so I unplugged the right hand rear amp.
Problem 2) The front woofers produce an intermittant fluttering bass noise during bass events in the playback.
Problem 3) The front woofers produce ingition noise that varies with engine speed and is alway present.

I've already bought & installed used replacement amps on ebay (all 3) that did not change any of the above symptoms. For now, I've unplugged both of the rear amps. There are not any problems with the tweaters, front or rear. I'm wondering if the head unit is the source of the noise and maybe it is sending bad signals to the rear amps? I checked the ground to the rear amps and it is <1ohm to the chassis.

Any input would be apreciated! (except 'gut' the Mach 460 and install aftermarket!)

well you can gut the entire...ohh wait... none of that huh.

Old cars Old wiring. The "whine" you hear is the engine noise running through your signal or rca wires to your amplifiers. If your power wire for the amps is running along the same side or space as your signal wires, then engine noise will acompany.

To fix, gut the ...., trace the wires and see where they are running, if you can rerun them if above situation is present.

As far as the speakers "fluttering" with bass, it sounds like either the rubber (or paper in some cases) around the cone may be coming off or damaged or the voice coils are worn out and replacing the speakers are a proper procedure.

Its called the 460 becuase that how much it costs to replace it all once it goes bad .

Default where were the grounds for the rear amps located?

I'm having alternator whine issues with an 01 gt and 460 and i want to check the grounds. Where were the grounds terminated for the cobra?

Anybody have ideas how to resolve? I've heard that noise suppressors affect the quality of the music. Any feedback would be great!
