Default 2002 Mustang CD Error after disconnecting battery?

I have read through some of topics of the "CD ERROR". My started after I disconnected my negative side battery to reset the Service Engine light.

Any ideas of why and how I can fix my CD Player.

Thanks,

Dawn

I've heard of this problem, but not experienced it on my 2002 GT. Can you describe your symptoms? Does the CD player work at all?

The first thing that occurs to me is that you need to remove the lead to the battery again, keep it off for 40 seconds, and then reattach it. If you have somehow confused the little brain in the CD changer, this may reinitialize it.

Did you have a CD playing at the point when you pulled the plug on the battery?

Yes everything worked fine up until that point. The radio works but I get "CD ERROR" if I try to play, load or eject.

I will try to disconnect like you suggested and let you know if it worked.

Thanks for the reply,

Dawn

if the system was on, you could have popped a resistor in the cd changer. try killing the power from the batter and the the unit by dis connecting it for a few seconds (30)

Wow, I have a 2000 Pony thats doing the same thing. Stereo plays but all 5 of my favorite CDs are stuck in it because I get the "CD Error" message no matter if I try to eject them, play them etc. Will have the hubby try disconnecting the battery then

My 6 disc does that randomly. I'll be riding and then that "CD error" will show up. I just cut the car off and turn it back on. Seems to work for a while...

I think I had this same problem on my 2000 GT. I can't remember how to fix it but I called up my local Ford dealer and they told me how to fix it. Pushed a couple of buttons or something like that it was easy. Sorry, I can't remember but it is an easy fix. Call Ford if no one else get you the answer.

Ok ....I have the same problem with my '03. It holds 6 CD's and 5 are stuck. No matter what button I have pushed they won't come out... Plus to my amusement it makes a weird sound like they want to come out but can't. Any suggestions?
