Default 1987 GT missing radio amplifier--Is a Premium Sound amp different?

Hi,I'm currently working on an '87 GT hatchback. When I bought the car, parts of it were missing, including the radio and the radio amplifier. I bought a used amplifier off of eBay, but it won't plug in. The amplifier I bought was out of an '87 GT, and I double checked it--it has an '87 date code. However, the amplifier has two very similar looking grey plugs. My car's harness has two female plugs, but one is noticeably larger than the other. Thus, the amplifier I bought isn't close to plugging in.My car has 6 speakers--does that automatically mean it has the Premium Sound system? And if so, does that use a different amp? I've been hitting up eBay nonstop, and none of the amplifiers I've seen are even close to plugging in.I really DON'T want to put an aftermarket system in this car. Anybody have any ideas on how to make a factory radio work? Again, all of the other wires are present and uncut, but the amplifier is (I assume) the only missing piece. Thanks for any help--I just need some music!

im not possitive if it would work or not but theoretically it should, someone correct me if im wrong, you COULD cut the wires and hard wire it in, but you wouldnt have as good of sound quality as if you got an amp in there.
