Default Disabling security alarm in a 1988 GT 5.0 HO

Hello all,
We have an '88 Mustang convertible, with an alarm system. I'm looking for a little help on how to disable the alarm, without messing something else up! In reviewing previous posts, it seem's the "brain" is probably in the lower steering column panel. This is a Sunday driver for us, and living in New Hampshire, this pony is in the barn for the winter.
The original problem is something is killing the battery. If this sets a week, DEAD battery, but, if started every day, no problems. If I disconnect the battery, no problems. The battery and alternator are new. The power door locks work with the clicker fine, and the lights blink ON and OFF, but the red LED light on the shifter console never goes out, which tells me I probably have power to the alarm system. It used to work fine, ON=armed, OFF= disarmed. When I find this "brain", is there a line fuse, or any fuse in the panel that I can pull for trouble shooting this issue? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

TXX88GT, Thanks for the quick reply. Pulling the fuse was my intent. I just didn't know where or what I was looking for, and if I would kill something else. We'll give this a try, Thanks AFM.
