I have a 1990 Mustang Coupe 2.3 and am trying to remove the stock stereo. I have already tried removing it using the two U shaped wires but it won't budge. What is my problem and what can I do to fix it?

Sounds to me like the factory release clips are broken or miss aligned. Best thing to do is to gently pry it out with a putty knife and use a pick tool to bend to clips inward toward the body of the radio.
