Ok so i wanna add like a 12" sub to my mach 460, but i'm thinkin only one twelve cause i dont want a huge amount of weight to add up in my trunk. Anyway, what sub, amp, and box do you you guys recommend? I wanna stay around the $400 mark for it all.

For the sub, check out Orion, MTX, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, they all make great subs, of course there's more companies I'm sure others like as well but those are off the top of my head. For the amp, the same companies but with a $400 budget, the amp could easily eat that up by itself. And you could have a box custom made or make it yourself, they're not hard to do, my brother and I make them all the time. You could build a box for $50-$75 in materials. And since you're going to use just one sub, that means it'll get the power from both sides so you might need to bridge it. If you do, you might need to get a 1 farad capacitor so it won't kill your whole charging system when the bass hits.

If youve got any friends who work in a store such as Best Buy or anything along those lines, they get up to 60% off on car audio. My friend got me mine and it is a rockford fosgate amp and a ten inch rockford fosgate sub. Amazing quality. I had a sony Xplod amp and a pioneer sub and the new setup just kills it. Without a discount it would have cost him 600 dollars but with the discount it was under 300. I dont know what your options are but I can vouch for the quality of Rockford Fosgate. I was told it was one of the best. Now if you want insane sound you gotta go with JL, and youll be looking and 700-800 just for the sub.

If you have a trunk car make sure you get some dynomat or some other kind of liner.

I just did a sub/amp setup in my 05 gt w/ shaker 500 for under $400.

Believe it or not I got most of my setup at walmart.

I've got 2 Lightning audio 750 max watt 12" subs, a Lightning audio 2x250 watt amp and 2 sub boxes. I also got my speaker wire and amp power kit there.

The subs were $40 per and the amp was $100. The boxes were about $35 per. All this ran about $330, but you'll need to go to a car audio store or best buy to get an amp converter kit to make your amp work with the factory head unit. This will run about $20-$25. So for about $350 you can nice dual 12" setup...as long as you install it yourself of course.

With shipping those add up to $272.38. Leaving you with about $128 for some sort of enclosure. You can find them real cheap on ebay or make your own. On ebay just type in mustang enclosures in the search block. Hope this helps or gives you an idea.
