2008 Mustang Bullitt, Shaker 1000 CD Problem

Just got my 08 Bullitt day before yesterday. Last night I attempted to load some discs into the Shaker 1000 and read directions in the owners manual. When I press the Load button (also the CD button) the screen says "Initializing" then after a second or so goes blank. Can't load any tunes! Anyone heard of this or have any suggestions??? Thanks

There have been quite a few problems with the shakers in the 05's.
You may need to either have it replaced or put in an aftermarket one.

The Shaker 500 HU that came with my 2006 wasn't much better. The prior owner had it replaced twice and I didn't like how it would chop off the last few seconds of a song that was playing to switch to the next track.

I had a rental 2007 V6 vert with the standard audio system and that factory radio played CDs better than the "premium" Skipper 500. I like my Alpine CDA-9887 better anyhow.

Maybe I will buy a 2016 Mustang GT, maybe not...

Follow Up

Hey all,
Sorry, I should have followed up earlier. So Ford said it was an internal error and had to replace the whole unit. New one works great, so far..........
Thanks.

Sorta the same...

I have a 2005 V6 with the Shaker 1000. Mine was playing a cd fine then all of a sudden the volume went down to 1.5 bars and will not get any louder. You can lower it to zero but no matter what it won't go over 1.5 bars of volume. It is the same on all sources (CD/AM/FM) and mute works but returns it to the 1.5 level.

I have disconnected the battery in hopes of getting it to reset. The clock clears, but my presets remain so I am not sure if it is doing anything. I read in another thread someone posted the directtions for doing the speaker self test (pressing presets #3 and #6 at the same time) but it says that it passed.
