Hello all,
Looking to bypass my amps in the Mach system while my car is torn apart. To put in my head unit/rear view cam, new speakers, a 4 channel amp for the speakers and a seperate two channel amp to power my 2 subs in the trunk. But before I get started I had some questions that I was hoping someone has the answers to..
Already got custom molded boxes for my subs to fit the trunk, so feel too committed to turn back now, plus my speakers are poop.gif (anyone have speaker recommendations?, if not I'll probably lean to kickers)
First off, Metra kit 5510?
Just kinda want to lay out my plan and see if anyone can correct any errors or add missing parts before I start.
-So head unit, wire it up to the Metra kit and attach remote turn on wire for the amps. Will I need 2? Or splice into 2 at the trunk?
-use the wires at the connectors for the stock amps to wire the line level connector for the 4x1 amp for speakers
-run rca cables for the amp from the head unit to the trunk for amps, do I need 2 rca hook ups on my head unit?
-run 4g power wire from battery to trunk, split at distribution block to power both amps
-ground both amps to trunk floor
-swap out door and deck speakers, any wiring needed??
Is this close, or do I need to run speaker wire from the head unit to each speaker from the amp?
Should I just be powering my speakers from my head unit?
Sorry for all the questions, I've looked around the forums for information but most people just lean to getting adapters to work with the 460 system rather than bypass and replace. But my audio system has been trashed in the car since I got it and needs to go
