Angry Mustang Owners not invited to FPV Day !!!

Details are still sketchy, but I have been told by a reliable source that Ford Performance Vehicles Australia have NOT invited Mustang owners to their annual car show !!! What, do Mustangs have too much performance to be at the show ??

It takes a lot to make me upset, but if this is true I am "Not a happy OZ"

I will find out more details and keep you all posted....

Default UPDATE

This is what a Ford Performance VehiclesDay organiser had to say !

Mustang owners would not be invited to the event and that Mustangs would not be included in the display due to the fact that Ford Australia had dropped the Mustang from its retail range.

I can only take this as a direct insult from FPV and would encourage everyone to write to them via the FPV Website.....

Oh, is that a FORD badge I see on my Mustang????? Could have fooled me. I'm sure the Camaro boys would not get this treatment over in the GM camp.

Good point Pete ! I've never seen a Corvette or a Camaro kicked out of a GM car show...

This is totally insane. What the hell do they consider a Mustang if it does not qualify as a "Ford Performance Vehicles Australia". Their show will be far from complete without Mustangs present. While it is really their loss, it's also quite insulting to Mustang owners worldwide.

The final chapter on this debacle. In last Friday's newspaper, FPV advertised the event in the Cars Guide. I quote from the advertisement. "FPV & XR Owners club and other Ford clubs, show 'N shine, GT's, MUSTANGS........................................." I wonder where they got the Mustangs from. I have heard a few reports from the day and beleive that there was a large number of XR6/8's on display, but the number and standard of GT's was low. Six MOCA members turned up with their cars and were allowed into the display area after a short discussion, due to the lack of other clubs attending.

Question Why would this do that?

I feel for you OZ! That's nutt's don't they hold a show
every year OZ? Ford Australia dropped the MUSTANG
from that's retail range what? Tell Ford Performance
Vehicles Australia to lay down the crack pipe because
the MUSTANG is FORDS' pride and joy plus they don't
know what "PERFORMANCE" means? Performance spell's
MUSTANG in FORDS' words' so,what else are they going
to have beside's MUSTANGS OZ? MUSTANGS do have tooooooo
much performance for them I guess OZ your right LOL.
That's like saying their's no vette or camero's at the GM shows!
That's a total insult to all the MUSTANG owner's that
wanted to go this year dawm they ARE NOT playing with a
full deck OZ! OZ is this the only year they did this?
Cheer up thou because their will probaly be other show
coming in the future.I know that makes me bad too because
it WILL NOT a complete show without the MUSTANG'S there!

Even if they do invite us, I'm not going. Bugger 'em. I'm going to the HSV show over at Fishermen's Bend.
