Smile Eat, Drink and act Intelligent part 2.

Change of date for the Trivia night guys, it's now Saturday 19th July at Melbourne Bowling Club. Smart people are welcome, although they will be dealt with. Bring the whole family and of course your friends, if you have any. We will be providing a light snack and the venue is fully licenced. Cost $10.00 per person, kids free. Please advise of your intention to attend by 12th July.

OK Guys it starts at 7.00pm til midnight at Melb Bowling Club Union St Windsor. The same venue where we meet monthly. Generally we have 8-10 to a team, but you can have any amount up to 10. You can bring as many non member friends as you like. The club will provide a light snack, usually pizza and there will be excellent Mustang related prizes as well. The venue is fully licenced.

Yes, but Aussie Pizza does leave that US stuff for dead. Here when you ask for a large pepperoni you need three friends to help you carry it home.

I attended this event last Saturday and had a ball.
Yet again the smart table ("Still That Table")won and the organisers went out of their way to keep the competition even right to the end by applying handicaps even if they wern't warranted. The "Winners" didn't win, "The Pony Spankers" turned out to be just that, the "Merkins" had a hairy night, "Neighbours" were neighbourly, and the "Bar Staff" did the job.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, ate and drank too much - free pizza by the ute load, and all should be back next year.
The talent quest was both entertaining and in some cases not good. The "Sound of Music" production was not to be missed.
Rowdie Bob Mc won the scotch in the bowls event (very clever marketing to hold a bowls event at a bowls club)- what he would do with it i'm not sure but it came with instructions so he should work through it.
Well done to all organisers and attendees.

Yep, have to agree with you there Noel. It was a great night even if our table didn't win. But we will be back next year

I believe the "Still that Table" team have been found to be in contavention of TITS (Trivia International Tournaments Society) regulayions and have been stripped of victory.

Whilst examining the "TITS" it has been found that all members of "Still that Table" had the required number under the regulations and therefore cannot be stripped by anyone other than themselves.

I'm not touching that one with a ten foot pole.......

but for those of you that have no idea what we are talking about here is a copy of the email......

Dear "that table again" team member, it is my melancholy duty to inform you of the disqualification of the "that table again" team from last Saturday night's trivia night. After lengthy discissions with the event referee, Mr. Grant Brooks, and a representative of the trivia night governing body, Trivia International Tournament Society (TITS), it has been concluded that your team consisted of 12 members. The TITS charter clearly states that the event referee and/or organiser will state in the event's supplimentary regulations the permissable maximum number of team members. In the event that supp regs have not been made available at any given event, the TITS ruling is: the maximum number of team members permitted shall not exceed the number of chairs/places set at any given table at the tournament venue PRIOR to the event commencing. After lengthy discussions and a closed sitting of the TITS regional tribunal, it has been decided that victory will be stripped from the "that table again" team due to the introduction of 2 additional team members AFTER the official start of the event at which time there were clearly 10 places available at your team's table. The TITS charter also reccommends that any offending team shall be excluded from the prestigous "TITS Grand Prix of Trivia" event to be held at the Coonabarabran Workers Club at a date to be advised. Unfortunately for you the TITS charter has no provision for appeal of this ruling. It is for this reason the we here at TITS reccommend that you and your associates avail yourselves with the TITS charter and book of rules concerning TITS challenge events in future.
Thank you,
Peter R. Richardson, TITS coordinator, Southern Hemisphere.
