My wife has been telling me for some time she wanted a '69 coupe so I started searching the clasifieds and on a trip out to Steve's to pick up some part I noticed a 69 fastback I casually mentioned this and couple of days later I was told we were going to look at it.Indecision!!!
I arrived home from night shift on Saturday morning to find the new issue of Unique Cars and Just Cars with potential cars marked and after some sleep made a few phone calls then went and checked out a 66 cheep for a reg RHD driver but it had had some fairly dubious body work done at some stage.A 20/20 car but it could easilly turn into a money pit when you started to fix it.
Then at lunch time today when I thaught I could no longer put off those domestic chores the phone rang and this bloke asks if I had rung about a mustang yesterday. After about half an hour I finally got of the phone and told my wife I might go up on Tuesday if I could fit it in.Her imediate responce was lets go now.
So we pilled the kids into the falcon and headed off to Ballarat afer a couple of stops for icecreams etc we finally made it the car was nearly as good as the guy said a small ding in the front stone tray ,rear stone tray stuffed (but has new panel) an old repair in the rh quarter was all I could find wrong with the body .No rust!!!! so an offer was made and after a small adjustment accepted .The hard part is I will have to wait till next weekend to pick it up.
The car is a 66 GT origionally gold (now blueish) with black std int with delux wood grain steering wheel A code with Auto, air , steer, posi and factory discs.
Any one want to buy an S -series Valiant ????I need the room in the shed !!!!
