Default Mustang Insurance

Hi All,

I am assuming that not all insurance companies would insure Mustangs in Australia.

Can you tell me what insurance companies you use to insure your Mustang and if possible how much everyone pays.

Thanks.

Insurance depends on the year of your Mustang. The classic Mustangs are easier to insure than the late models. Prices depend on condition and agreed value on the car. Modifications also influence the price as does your driving record.

Classic Mustang Insurers are :
- Shannons Insurance
- VIGIL Insurance Brokers
- Just Car Insurance

Late Model Mustang Insurers are :
- VIGIL Insurance Brokers
- Torque Car Insurance

Your car being a late model, I would guess it will cost you some where between $800 to $1100 Aussie dollars for agreed value Comprehensive insurance.

Once again thank you very much. It is great to hear from someone who has been through it all with their Mustang.

If I end up getting Cross Over to perform the conversion we should get together then.

What problems are you having with your ignition key?

If there is anything I can do for you from over here, just let me know.

We'll catch up either way. I'm often in QLD for work. If you do decide to go Cross Over, let me know cos I know some of the guys there

As for the ignition, I think it is the module relay switch. The car wont turn off ! I have to pull the coil lead (wire) off the distributor cap to kill the ignition ! Pain in the ass

Unique Car Insurance Good to deal with realistic about mods (When I approached them to query if modifying my engine would affect my premium I was told I could fit a blown big block so long as it was legal with no alteration to my premium)Have not made a claim and hope not to so I can't coment on on how they deal with them.

Thanks for that. I will contact them as well.

I contacted quite a few companies last week, but did not get too manu reponses. One I did get quoted me $1700.00, which is much more reasonable than $3500.00. So I don't think I will have a problem when I finally get back.

Thanks again for everyones help.

I spoke to a guy that has a Saleen S-351 and he said he is insured with VIGIL agreed value for $1400.

Therefore I would say you should be paying about $1,500 I guess.

VIGIL are the ones that quoted about $3500.00. I did find other companies a lot cheaper, so I foigure I won't have a poblem when I get back.

Thanks for all your help.

Goodday, my 1970 Fastback is insured at agreed value with Shannons (1300139006) and only costs $27.52 per month (I'm a rating 1 with 65% no claim bonus)- they don't charge anything on top for monthly payments - the only draw back is my car is limited by the policy to 8000 km per year
Regards and hope this helps
