His car is not eligible for Historic Registration and therefore must be converted to RHD.

Geez just noticed this thread after posting similar question about my 01 GT Bullitt. I am an Aussie currently living in Canada and thinking of bringing my stang home with me later this year if financially viable???? Does anyone know costs involved to do LHD to RHD???? I am still debating if its worth impoting and conversion.... I love my stang but the cost could be the decidiing factor? also wondering what a 01 GT Bullitt's market value in Oz might be??? any advice welcomed
Cheers- Marty in Canada
Hey Marty, welcome to Canada!
I am also in Ontario and am interested in bringing my 86 convertible and 68 (if completed) to Brisbane. Have you come up with any quotes for shipping your stang from Ontario? The only one I got so far is for a 40' container which goes for about $5200 US.
I would also be looking for LHD 2 RHD conversion for the 86, does anyone know of a company that does that year? I was in touch with Crossover buth they don't do 198x's. Do I even need to get it converted, I know it may screw me up with driving but what are the legalities?

You can't register the car. It's not considered historic.
Here is a link to the Mustang Owners Club of Australia. Pick the OLD state site -> http://www.mustang.org.au
There is a conversion place in QLD that does fox body mustangs. Its called Maracooma. I can't find their website. Must be spelling it wrong.

Hi OzPony, thanks for the info,

Yeah, its 25 or 30 years old. Think 25 ?? Anyway, there are no restrictions on historic registered vehicles. You can drive them LHD.
All other imported cars must be converted to RHD and comply with Australian standards at the time of compliance.

Thanks for the info guys, I guess the car will have to stay in Canada for another 5-10 years before it can be topless in Auss!!
Bring an '05 back. They are worth an absolute fortune here.
