Default Muscle Car Replicas

Hey fellas,
I was wonderin if you guys knew anything about muscle car replicas having any safety features that the originals wouldn't? This applies to all muscle cars not just old Mustangs... Any help would be great.

If you are talking about cars like AC Cobra kit cars etc then the answer is yes. If they are built in 2005 then they must adhere to current safety and emission standards.

If a replica is based on an origional body eg XY falcon then it must meet or exede the same standard as the origional engines must meet the polution regs for year of manafacture.Check with your local rego authority

Well most models of the muscle car time I guess, but specific examples would include a Mustang (65-67), XY GT, Charger, Plymouth Cuda, Chev Camaro, or older 55-57 chevs. With replicas of these cars I would hope that they would have ABS brakes or disc brakes at the least, come with 3 pt seat belts, and it might seem out of the question but even air bags.

Most cars of that era could be optioned with disc brakes so thats not an issue .Pre tension lap sash seat belts are easily fitted (I've had it done to my'66) ABS would be possible to fit probably require a transplant from a late model ,I imagine Air bags would be tricky I don't know too much about them.My point is that you or any good restoration shop could give you most of the features you'd want. You may have have to a bit of convincing to get it done because it's a little outside the square.

good luck keep us posted
