Have not gotten any further with pulling the bottom end out, The 1st day of Summer was just too good to be in a garage covered in Grease. So i spent the day in front of TV watching Marcus bring home the flag for us Ford lovers.

Job well done!!!

Heads and accesories are off, Block ready to come out.

Thinking of getting my Extractors HPC coated, been quoted $375 for the pair, anyone had any experiences good or bad. My main reason is to reduce underbonnet temps.

Files too big how do ireduce.

would help if read the whole thread

HPC coating can't say I know that much about it but I was under the impression its benifits were primarily asthetic and corosion protection.
For temperature reduction you may be better off looking at wrapping the headers with thermal tape.

That thermal wrap works really well actually. You can get it cheap from ET Performance in Dandy.

There is a place in QLD that does HPC coating. I haven't heard any great reports about it though... Your money would probably be better spent on some heads.

The heads are fine, the wrapping eats away the metal ive been told. Cuts the life of extractors down by half.

There is HPC coater in leongatha who has quoted me.

I agree, wrapping your extractors dosen't do them any good is terms of life span ! Why did you want to have them HPC coated ?? What benifit / problem fix were you looking for Fastback ??

Under bonnet temperatures are very high, floor gets extremely hot, had a fuel starvation problem due too evaparation. Also burns out exh gaskets due to severe heat (tried all brands). HPC seems to be the go, but i would like to talk to someone who has tired the product.

Fastback, I posted a question about HPC coating in the Technical Section. Check it out and add any other information I have left out

The heat reduction they are quoting on the website is quite outstanding

Block came out no worries, happy the converter stayed in its place with a little help, nothing worse than 2-3 litres of auto oil in your garage.

Next step by engine stand bolts, fit on stand and strip.

Need block bare by saturday so it can be dropped off at machine shop.

On trolley awaiting to be stripped.

The beams in garage were making lots of noise, thought they would not hold.
