Thumbs up 1973 Mach 1 Tidy up

This is a pic of my Fastback 2 months after i damaged a piston/bore at the Easternats. Sitting outside in the weather very dirty NO GOOD, work too many hours NO GOOD, make more money VERY GOOD, spend money on car NO GOOD, BLOW AWAY JAPANESE RICE CARS AT THE LIGHTS QUALITY.

Ive now finished rebuilding the engine in my track car and ive made room in the garage for the Fastback.

Thanx Vortex,

Gave it a wash, refitted the 5 slots and pushed into the garage.

Unhappy

That bore looks kind of sad. Which machine shop did you use for the rebore?Would you recomend them?I will be looking for one in the not too distant future as I do the new engine for the '66.I hope it goes back in without any hassles

The original machine work was done by Crankshsaft Rebuilders, job was done well by them , the damaged bore is due too the engine throwing a drive belt and getting very hot at high revs, a slight knock appeared days after this and poor compression. I believe when it got ext hot everything expands and a little of the piston was picked up, will know more on monday/tuesday when bottom end is pulled down.

For parts ive always used Chris at Speed pro in Dandenong, Airlie ave, its the street that Burson auto parts is on the corner of.

Machine work this time around will be done peter way, he picks up and delivers, hes now in pakenham i believe, he used to have a shop behind Dandy Performance.

The Mach 1 looks very cool. I like the yellow. Who'd you steal the Tridon Hose Clamp Rack off Mr Fastback ???? C'mon you can tell us

Hey Krankieone, keep us posted on how the '66 rebuild goes. And I have to agree with Fastback, Speed Pro in Dandy are very good for parts and advice.

Hmmm, XR-XY parts ! They're getting rare these days. I don't actually know anyone but if you want to clear them, maybe try the Trading Post or Parts Peddler ???

Better still, there is a huge Ford wreckers that only does XR - XY. They are called Ford Wreck Factory 2/12 Windale Street, Dandenong Ph : 9794-0007. I'd bet they would be interested. It's worth the call, even if you traded them for some engine parts ???

Due to work, i only spent 2 hours on the car and all i done was remove the left hand extractor, why they make the extractor bolt holes so close to the pipe i dont know. Sunday and i should have some pics of the bottom end out of the car.

Ford Wreck in Dandenong would be intersted in anything if your willing to give it away. Trading Post is great you are right but seem to attract alot of people who waste my time (tyrekickers) I realise you need to be patient with this kind of stuff, plus i hate letting strangers come to my house. But i will give it a try again.

Notice at the V8 supercars today at sandown theres a swap meet on next sunday, thinking of getting a sight and selling off all the stuff i no longer need.
