Default Where to buy taper rolls?

I was all fired up to start porting my heads and with No 1 son in tow set off to buy a carbide burr and some taper rolls .We spent several hours going from place to place receiving blank looks whenever we asked for taper rolls though I was shown several products that I had never heard of all of which were completely useless for head porting .

I was hopeing one of you guy's might be able to give me a lead.

I'll take the web cam out to the shed and post some progress pics as I start to attack with the burr and hope like hell I can find some taper rolls or some equivilent product to finish them off as I dont realy feel like polishing by hand.

Any input or ideas would be most welcome at this stage

Krankie,
I don't know exactly, but I would start with Just Tools in Claredon St, or any of the All Tools. (There is one on Warrigal Rd..) Be very carefull though... They both stock a full range of King Krome. It could be a very expensive visit

If they couldn't help me I would call Eagle Auto's and ask for Les. He should know......

If all of those fail, I have a contact at Yella-Terra Heads I can ask for ya

Thanks fellas
have tried All Tools I did find somewhere today who would get me a $300 set in, so they must be availible somewhere it is just finding who stocks them I'll try the yellow pages monday.

Fastback - taper rolls are a tapered roll of emery paper bound togeather with adesive that fit on a threaded mandril for use in a die grinder(there maybe another name for them?)

I did manage to get some small flapper wheels and a second burr so I go annd get stuck in.

www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm I know your from down under but I think what you are looking for is what they carry.
The company is called Stanard Abrasivies. They specialize in head porting tools and materials

Thanks GT50 your spot on but I want to find somewhere local so I can see what I'm getting as some salesmen have been trying to sell me stuff that is inapropriate for the job.
