1988 Mustang GT engine question

Hi,

I am going to have a look at a 88 GT which has been in storage for around 10 years. The engine hasn't been turned over in a couple of years is there anything I should be looking out for when the engine gets cranked over? Are there any tell tail signs the engines past it? I'm a bit wary about the engine with it sitting for so long with little use? The GT has 70,000 km's on the clock.

What to make sure of is that the oil system is still working, the fuel system isn't clogged up, and the compression is still above 130 psi. Pull the plugs, check the cap and rotor, rubber hoses for any dry rot, and be wary of any fuel that is still in the tank. Gas has a shelf life and anything in there is probably gone sour. You might should prime the oil pump before starting and that way it won't be such a dry start.
