I love this charger and eventually will probably get it, but do you guys have the numbers wrong i though the stage 1 was putting like 450 to the wheels and the stage 2 closer to 500..thats what edelbrock site claims anyways.....little confused....and if your showing these numbers for sure ,arent these numbers to high of horsepower for are stock engines????
Those are flywheel numbers. If you go to the website it says flywheel. They just left that out in the post on here. Honestly I don't understand why you would market your item with flywheel numbers knowing very well that every other company markets the same item with rear wheel numbers. The only thing I can think of is deceptive marketing, trying to make their tunes more appealing than their competitors.

edit:
I suspect they are using the flywheel numbers because the drive train from one stang to another can be very different and measuring from the flywheel gives most accurate read of what their product is doing. Seems like other supercharger kits should be advertised that way.
Just for information, this kit was compared to the kit that Jegs sells in another thread. I checked and the Jegs kit does not include a fuel pump upgrade nor a cold air intake. These are both included with the Brenspeed kit.

You're right it does say it in the writing. I was just looking at the product description. It still doesn't make sense though to use it. Especially when rate hp on every other supercharger they sell as rwhp.

Also forgot to mention, Jegs charges an additional $119.00 to ship, Brenspeed's price includes the shipping.
It looks like Edelbrock chose to use flywheel hp as well.
It maybe as mentioned, to eliminate the variations due to drive train loss? Maybe? Auto vs. Manual, different rear gears...
In the December issue of 5.0 they have an article where they did two dyno runs with the same car but only swapped out the rear end from 3.31's to 3.73's. The 3.31's dyno'ed higher then the 3.73's through out the rpm range (minus one point)

Even though I have the lowest HP rating of em, I dont care, it will shread the tires in first, second, and part way into third gear. mine is at 400/383 I think, sorry too lazy to go look at the #'s. Drives through snow/rain/hail like a normal car, till you hit the boost.
Plus my MPG went up ( when I stay out of boost) I average around 20/22 in town, and thats my 3 mile trip to work. Hi-way, I get around 28/30 MPG.
Yup I'm a happy camper.

Sounds good to me, I would be happy too if I were putting a dependable 400hp to the tires and getting 20 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway. That was unheard of not very long ago. Hopefully pretty soon, I'll be in the same boat. Congrats!!
