56HP gains on 2007-2009 Mustang GT500 with a 30 minute bolt on!
It sounds like one of those "this engine can run on water" come-ons but we've got the video of the GT500 on the dyno to prove it! BBK is coming out (later this month) with a combination Aluminum high-flow Mass Air meter / cold air induction kit that when bolted onto their test GT500 showed real world gains of 56HP and 33 ft/lb of torque! All they did was unplug the stock mass air meter from the factory box, removed the stock air filter, and bolt the new parts pretty much right into the same places!
Wow if that's Legit I see BBK having a successful run with these parts BUT 56RW? Dyno numbers can easily be manipulated! Plus that BBK filter looks awful small, maybe 6 inch? I wonder if a 9" S&B Loudmouth would gain even more?
That sounds pretty patronizing. Brutal is a respected member of these boards and has his s**t together. A simple explanation of how your dyno was run would have been a better response.

I don't want to sound skeptical but, 56rwhp from a MAF and CAI, seems like a lot. Then again, the GT500 is running F/I. More colder air and a better fuel/air mixture can sure make a lot of power.
I'd love to see it done on another GT500 and the results compared.
Edit: Think about this also: What do you think ford did when the made the GT500KR? They modified the intake (and charged and extra $40k ). That made the KR hit 540HP. So, 56hp from a BBK kit is not too hard to figure.

haha I guess you haven't seen that old Horsepower TV episode where they did Dyno runs with an 03 SVT Cobra?? It was pretty amusing how the fudged the numbers to show the products endorsed by the show had these BIG Gains like that old school hypertech power programmer!!
Not acusing BBK of any wrong doing but I'd be curious to see these parts installed on a number of GT 500's to see if 50+RW is common rather than an exception!
Hell i believe it, when a 05-10 GT stock can get 25rwhp from intake/tune out of the 4.6L. I am sure you can get 56hp out of the 5.4L with a blower. I definitely can believe it is real.

Even with that Tiny air filter they supply?
And you said one word in that reply that says it all TUNE!
Yeah you can get 25 HP with an intake and a custom TUNE on an
05-10GT but are the MAF counts and voltage gonna change that dramatic just by changing to that aluminum housing?? OK I'm done arguing here. FYI I have been a longtime fan and advocate of BBK's products and have used them on 3 cars that i've owned so good luck to them. I'm sure in the coming months there's gonna be many more individual Dyno tests from new buyers of this Intake Kit!
But remember guys NO Custom tune, NO pulley change,NO Exhaust work and 56RW?? If I owned a GT500 I'd be very interested in this part!

Yeah brutal, i finished the video and realized there was no tune.. That sounds kind of high for an untuned car. Yeah now that i look at it, i question a little bit of that product BBK is showing off. Time will tell bro, time will tell.

I wish I could see the video but can't. I do find it really hard to believe that you can get over a 10% increase in power over stock with just the CAI and MAF. Doesn't the 500 have a somewhat CAI inlet box to begin with? Are we all missing something here? Does the new intake look anything like this?
Dave
Yeah it's similar Dave but the air filter in your pic is about twice the size, but the BBK also comes with a new aluminum MAF housing that uses the stock electronics..

Well, I'm still trying to figure out what I really have. I had Roush put the new forged short block in and the 2300 tVS ten days ago and this is what I left with. If it ever quits raining, going to have to go out and see some more. The new motor is just about what is going into the new 540 Hammer, good for about 500 RWHP.
