I like to think im as dedicated to my stang as the next enthusiast, but honestly now...
If anyone is willing to share their experience and wisdom on finding parts and 'good deals', please let me know.
When i read about someone's car, and they list off thousands of dollars of parts the money factor never seems to play a role in everyone's project.
So im just curious about this.... anyone that wishes to provide some insight will be greatly appreciated.
Maybe i just need a better job?? lol...
What exactly are you looking for, there are some smokin' deal sto be had up here if you can get them right away.
Also, most of the American guys don't have to deal with the conversion rate, shipping, etc... so they build their cars for about 60% less than we do.
Yeah I hear ya. There are no really "good deals" when your dealing with Canadian dollars plus shipping which takes over a week to arrive. Their dollar does go a lot futher sometimes. I guess it's too bad for us EH?!
Ill start running parts over the border for a small fee

Things you can buy used without being concerned too much about possible problems:
Pulleys, intake, throttle body, MAFs, headers, X or H pipes, control arms, sway bars, strut bars.
Things you should be cautious with:
Heads, Cams, blocks, rear end gears
Give eBay a try, check sellers with good ratings, call them if possible.
Other deals can be found at bulleting boards such as AFM, and you could try getting info about the seller from other users.
One more thing.. BE PATIENT it not only takes money, takes time to make the right decisions.
Thanks everyone..
I guess whenever i need something, ill just have to be very very patient.
I know all to well about the god forsaken exchange rates/shipping charges. Bah.. oh well. I guess our Canadian Stangs are going to mean that much more to all of us if we pour 70% of a paycheque into them. haha.. lord knows thats what ive been doing.
The pisser is i barely have anything to show for it.
But thats a whole other post... haha...
Not only is our Canadian Dollar worth much less then the american dolar, we have to pay alot of money for duty when we order something from the states. I ordered $325 worth or stuff from Califronia and there was $58 dollars of duty.
I've heard that you can usethe header off a ford ranger and performance cold air intake from a 96 civic (for 2.3L only). They are sopposta be a direct fit. Maybe that will save you some money, just go to a local parts shop and get that or even go to a junk yard and find a header off a Ranger for 20 bucks.

careful with intakes . look at the thermostat hole really well . Be weary of an intake with the thermostat housing on it . They may be trying to hide a severely corroded hole .
