Hey man,

I thought I would ask you, since you live here in AB, do you know of anyone, or would you recommend anyone in Edmonton, or Calgary, that could rebuild my motor. I know there are many outfits in both cities, but I would rather deal with someone who was recommended to me.

I would like to spend no more than about $3500, but I don't even know what a $3500 rebuild would achieve for me.

Like I have mentioned, I would like about 300 rwhp, but still maintain daily drivability status.

Also, what can a guy do himself? I have never done serious motor work, but am anxious to learn.

Thanks again Jarrett.
Peter

I do not know of anybody in Edmonton, or Calgary really for that matter except for the "big name" guys like Moore's Engines. The motor in my car was built by Western Motorsports before I bought it. I do all my own work, and will be either rebuilding it or replacing it entirely this year. If you are trying to get by on $3500, it would help if you didin't have to pay that much for labor. Let me check around here for prices and get back to you.

Thumbs up

The Mustang Shop in Calgary will do a complete rebuild for about $1400. This is for a stock 306 so I'm sure if you talk to Matt Mitchell, the owner, he could difinetely do 300 rwhp for 3500.

Cool89,
Where do you live? What do you need as far as a rebuild?

I also am in Calgary and just bought an 86 gt a month ago. The engine is seized or will not turn over anyways, and I am looking for a shop to rebuild it for my. Has anybody dealt with firebolt engines? I just came across them, haven't checked pricing yet though.
