Tried that US 800 # and the mechanical lady don't understand a thing you say. . . and if you do get a real human, they can't find anything on your order. . . do they only see US orders? My understanding is all mustangs are built in Flatrock.
I told my dealer today to find out what we're looking at for scheduling; told them im not going to wait 14 - 20 weeks like some people are on the US order tracker forum. I have a line on a couple slightly different from what i ordered and may cancel and try to deal there.
What kind of time did your dealer give you for delivery?
Were you able to get a VIN #?
I live in Vancouver, and ordered a GT coupe on Feb. 12. I was told that a VIN # could be obtained in a week or two, and then we would have a better idea of build date, and be able to track the order.
I still don,t have a VIN, and have no idea when I will get my car.
I ordered the interior upgrade, and I know that there were delays because of this, but I have heard that they are back up to speed with that.
I honestly think that the people at the dealer have NO IDEA what's going on.
In a couple of weeks I,ll go harass them again, after all, on Feb. 12 me and my salesman were best buddies.
When did you order yours ?
I,m going nuts waiting, and I'm starting to see them out on the road.
I hope someone can help us track these orders.

Maybe the dealer(s) are being kept in the dark, or they just don't put the effort into getting the info. I've tried the US 800 # but have been unable to get info for one reason or another. At the Cdn 800 # all you get is "talk to your dealer", no effort to help you. All i need to know is that it will be built and not take more than 12 weeks. I told dealer if it's going to be more than that, Id settle to look for something close to my spec. Iv had a couple of dealers tell me they could get me one elsewhere (not quite to spec). If i can get a VIN in the next week, OK, that might help me sleep. Apparently someone can track by VIN. I'll look it up and re-post it, i think it's on the other computer. Keep us up to date if you find any way of tracking; I can't believe they make no effort to keep us informed. what could they be hiding? Although mine hasn't been ordered that long, i'm sure they could at least confirm where the order is and give you a reasonably accurate eta. I ordered 3/21.

OK try this :
blueovalnews.com , forums , ford employees
Use the "OK guys - I have a VIN#" thread.
I haven't used it yet (no VIN) but apparently someone in here might be able to assist with tracking info.
You will need to create a login id; you will be emailed a p/w.
Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I just posted over there and I'm waiting for an answer. It seems that someone over there (Kintzi) is kind enough to come by once in a while and provide the information to the people asking.

Congrats; looks like you ordered Apr 1 and you at least got VIN already. Now you can track with kzinti (most reliable source we got). I ordered Mar 21 and am still waiting for VIN. Did you order thru a large dealer? SONICGT - You still waiting for VIN?

I had a chat with my dealer again this weekend. I asked if I could get my VIN yet, and of course drilled them on delivery date. He got up and left me in his office, then "the Boss" came in. This guy says that the VIN is created when the car is built, and then I'm looking at 2 weeks at least to get it to the west coast. Whatever. I realize that it will take some time, but I have a problem with the way that they tell me something, and then tell me something different a couple of weeks later. I just want to know how to track it myself, and so I asked them if it was possible that I could do this. They told me that it was impossible. They also claim that the factory is still not up to speed with the interior upgrade, and I hope that's not correct. It's been 9 weeks, so I'm hoping to see it soon.

Production process seems to be a big secret. Ford Canada told me its an automatic computer selection process that they have no control over because of all the factors that must be taken into consideraton. Obviously least of which is your order date. I see Cdn orders going to delivery in 6 wk, your into 9, i'm into 5 c/u, but my dealers rep "gaurantees" build will happen (but can't say when). "Wait another week, you may have a VIN."

I went down to the Ford store again on Wed. and found out that my car has been, in their words, "serialized". I asked for the number, and they said that I couldn't have it. They claim that some people are harassing the transport companies, and others, and generally ticking off everyone involved. I promised to be a good boy and not do all those nasty things (but of course I would), and asked real nice for the VIN. My sometimes bestest buddy(aka salesman) said that he would track it for me. Right. He also said, as did his boss, that he would call me when it got designated with a VIN. They tell me now it will be out here in 4 to 5 weeks. Again, this is contrary to what they told me last time. It was numbered at least a week ago, because they get a list of their VIN'd orders on Thursdays. Nobody called me. I'm just so happy to know it's getting close. I've arranged for the stripes to be installed at the ford shop instead of my shop, so that I can pick it up, and it will already be done. Get this...The boss down there says that he's not "comfortable' with the colour, and that's why he wouldn't order one on spec. He told me that because I wanted something unusual, I should expect to wait longer. I told him that I don't give a *#@% what he thinks, I want my car the way I ordered it and I think its gonna look killer. Oh, ya... I've ordered Sonic Blue with graphite leather,5 speed, the stripes will be white. It's exactly what I want, and this car is for ME!
Should I hassle them to track it? It seems like they don't know anything anyways. Anyone have any idea how long it should take after getting a VIN? It can't come soon enough for me.

Congrats. I hope they aren’t just giving you a load. I’d bug them every few days until they do, then you can leave them alone. /><O></O>
Have you tried Kzinti’s VIN tracker at BlueOvalNews.com?<O></O>
Now that you have a # he may be able to find it with only dealer/order # info.<O></O>
Or try fred-fred with your info. Worth a try.<O></O>

Stripes: I hope you’re not getting the Ford dealer installed kit; Ugh!/><O></O>
There may be others, but at least these do the bumpers too (and so many colors).<O></O>
Whatever you go with, paint or vinyl, be sure it’s not going to void any paint or finish protection warrantees.<O></O>
A good (body painter) friend of mine recommends vinyl – easy to install, tougher more durable than paint (unless you spray clearcoat after – very costly), also can be removed for whatever reason.

I convinced the dealer to give me my VIN. The only stipulation was that I keep from trying to track it myself. I agreed. They said they would do it for me, so I left it in their hands. So far they have done nothing. All I ask is that they return my calls, and give me an update. Even if they were to say they don't know, at least that would be a response. I decided to take your advice and try the "kintzi" method. Got in the site, registered, and asked for a trace. Waiting to hear back. If I get info that my dealer says is impossible to get I'll be choked. It's been 13 weeks, so it's probably close. After finally seeing a Sonic blue car, I'm wondering if I should go with silver stripes? The interior is light grey, so it might work better. I found out that there are different quality stripes around, and the kind you can get from E-Bay cheap are likely crap. I heard the same as you- vinyl is the way to go. The factory set is, of course, not what I'm after. I want the stripes to be all ther way down both bumpers, and around the rear spoiler, too. I've seen a couple of cars around with crappy stripe work, but hey, at least they're driving their Mustang. I ordered the premium wheels. Whatever it was to come with was to be real temporary. I figured that the premiums might be easier to trade to a tire shop. I don't know what I'll use yet, and I'll check your link to see. If we lower these cars are we roasting our warranties? I think a set of 19's with a slight drop would make it a little more unique.
