I own a 2002 mustang, but now when I turn there is a loud grinding noise, and it doesn't sound good. I just want to have an idea of what it is before I go to the mechanic. Any one have an idea of what it is?

i would guess the wheel bearing is shot.

i agree with ^...jack up the car,grab the tire and see if it moves up and down to check.

oh yea your probably cheaper off doing it yourself because it would probably be cheaper to replace the entire hub for 120bucks yourself then get the bearing inside the hub replaced bye the local mechanic for 300bucks

edit: more trouble shooting, if your turn left and it grinds its probably the passenger side bearing if your turn right and it grinds its probably the driver side bearing, when you figure out wich is grinding thats the 1 you start working on

Just lift front end and spin the wheels, the bad bearing will growl. Don't forget there's inner and outer on each side. Much cheaper to just replace bearings yourself, should get all 4 for under $100.00.
