Default 1963 1/2 Mustang ford galaxie should i buy?

ok i found a 1963 1/2 ford galaxie for sale for $400. What all could i pull off of it. if it has a 427 im 100% for sure i am going to get it and try to fix the 427. would it have a 9 inch rear end i could use? are their more benifits i could get from this car rather than downfalls? what about if it doesn't run are their still more benifits?

Yes, it would have a 9 incher and if it has a 427 it will be worth $4000 in any kind of repairable condition condition save completely rusted out!

Keep us appraised of your find.

Not necessarily. Only the axle tag, if it's there, or a removing the center section and looking at it will tell you for sure, but if that's the only thing holding you back...

i don't think a galaxie 9 inch would fit a mustang anyway and if its only $400 i wouldn't think it's a 427 but you never know

Its not a 427 you got lied to its a 406 same fe but crappy heads and the 9 inch in it is way too wide for a mustang.

Hello. To be a 63 1/2 galaxie it would be the semi-fastback body style, instead of the boxier look of a 62/63. The car that you are looking at did not come with a 427, nor did it come with 406. It is more than likely a 260 car, possibly a 390. Nicer 63 1/2 427 galaxies go for something in the mid to upper hundred range, as in $170,000. A complete basket case that had nothing going for it except for a pretty good frame that wasn't too bent up and rusted would go for around 25 or 30 grand. The fact that it's a 63 1/2 in no way indicates that it is a 427 car, and the fact that the owner is calling it a 63 1/2 tells you that he or she has a pretty good idea of what it is that they have, because the title says 63, not 63 1/2. Hope that helps.

Stll a neat car if it's the semi-fast back and you can still fit ANY motor in it. heck you fit the band in the engine compartment while you're working on it!LOL
