Default 1965 Mustang Door Data Plate is missing

Well, three hours after my introductory post, I have my first question. (I did do a search first).
My 'new' 1965 has no door data plate. My husband gets Eminger invoices and Marti reports for his Boss 302's, but tells me these aren't available for 1965. How and where can I get an accurate replacement door data plate? Thanks, Mag

Marti reports are only 67-73 you can get a new door tag anywhere but most of the info on the first one is lost now.

Default Missing door tag and production date question

Thanks for the reply. I'll start with the production date. The car is a 1965 Dearborn car and the last six vin is: 703002. Can anyone provide a rough build date? Thanks again, Mag

Hello. Your car would have had a scheduled production date of april 25 of 65, which would be 25R. The car was actually completed a bit later than that, but that would be the date on the door tag. Hope that helps.

thanks for looking up the date. Helps a lot. Found that Virgina Classic Mustang can provide a stamped plate if they're given all the data. Mag

Hi again. That would be about 14L, or November 14 of 64. That might be off by a day, one way or the other, but not any more than that. Hope that helps. And you are quite welcome.

Hi again. Rocky, yours would have a scheduled build date of about april 5th of 65. That one also might be of by a day, but not any more than that. The car was actually completed closer to the end of the month, but the tag date would be 05R. The missing D.S.O. is gone forever, barring a miracle, like finding an original window sticker or something. Hope that helps.

Hi again. I just sent you an email, Tony. Feb. 16 of 65. The dso is lost forever. I'm assuming that you are just guessing on the other stuff, based on what is physically present on the car right now?

Default door tag

Yes, but hopefully it was an educated guess :>)

I found a book at the library (of all places) that helped me fill some of the blanks and by using a mustang decode book I think the data plate should look like this minus the DSO.

65A J 26 16B ? 1 6

I would take a guess that the DSO code would be 15 for Newark, but that would wild guess.

Thank you so much for the build date.

Tony
