Default So far 2008 only means another year on this project

Well the new year's here and I've still not painted the '64. I did however have some accomplishments in '07; though I'm not sure unplanned, and unfunded upgrades, qualify as "accomplishments". So, going into '08, we're subframe connectors, and a paintjob, away from driving this car again. Of course that's until someone on these forums suggests something, which last year I didn't even know was possible, but now can't live without...

1997-200? I guess I have to have something to take up those extra hours between a full time job, and the farm...

So far:
Rebuilt 351W
Rebuilt C4 Trans
All new suspension (front and rear)
All new steering
All new brakes with a front disc brake conversion
All new wiring (1965 type harness) (electronic ignition conversion; boy that was fun)
All new sheet metal (except roof)
All new interior

I guess when complete, the only thing original on this car will be the roof and title…

Man that looks SWEET!! I'm working on a 67 for the passed 3 years, once I figure out how to weld my floor panels or find somebody that can, than I'll be able to start reassembly. Your CAR LOOKS GREAT, only wish I was at the same point. Hope you enjoy it!!!!

Rebuilding the car right is worth all the time it takes don't rush it you'll be a lot happier in the end.I did a frame off on a 65 impala i had at 16 i rushed it and wasn't too happy with the body work/paint in the end.But i never got to do it over i wrapped it around a tree like a dumb 17 year old.

Well, I received a notice the other day from this forum that I hadn't visited for a while. Truth is my '64 coupe could say the same thing... Besides starting it every other week, I haven't touched it in 2008 (explains why it's an eleven year project).

Anyway, I just stopped by to report nothing... Oh, I did get to look at Veronica's new webpage; very nice...

Just remember, a restoration is never really finished. Looking good, though!

Stump - it doesn't look like there could be much left to do based on your list! Hope you got a good deal on the parts of the original car that you kept. What about interior plans?

The interior will be completely red. I'm not sure if I have that option on the headliner but will worry about that when the time comes. Tomorrow I'm going to see a man about a paint job...

The thing that sucks for me is that i've taken so long that some new rubber parts are going bad already...
