Red face Selling a '66 coupe. How much are they going for?

I am thinking of selling my 1966 coupe. I am the second owner. It was my 16th birthday present from Dad. It is a 6 cylinder three speed. The color is Sauterne Gold. I have rebuilt the motor, put new transmission in (from a 1970) and put dual exhaust on it. It runs great. There are a few rust spots and minor dings. How much are these going for?

I couldn't begin to tell you what it's worth, WHY are you selling it. In my mind it worth a million buckets, espeacially the history that you hold with this car!!! Again any reason your selling it?

To me the sentimental value would be worth more than any dollar figure that could go on that car. 16 birthday present from your dad should be enough right there to keep it.

yes i agree to... my granpa just got me a 1966 with a 200ci too.. and mine has no rust and is worth alot for a 6 cylinder. but its the thought that counts and i will never sell the car in my life time.. my son will get it someday when i have a son! just keep it

Value on a classic has a lot of variables. Your best bet is to have the car appraised by a pro. That will also help with the sale.

But, remember that the economy is on a downturn. Values on everything is dropping by the day. You'll have a tough time finding a buyer, and getting the price you want.

I know that a V8 coupe in good condition can go for 14,000, so a 6 cyl coupe in similar condition probably could sell for 8-12k, depending on the buyer.
