1990 Lincoln TC 5.0 swap to a 1971 Mustang any advise? Hey to everyone. I am new to the forum. I have a 1971 Mustang Convertible with an I6 and a 3 speed manual. I also have a 1990 Lincoln Town Car with a 5.0 and AOD automatic. I would like to pull the 5.0 and put it into the Mustang. I would also like to change over the automatic to a t-5 transmission. The 5.0 should bolt in with a new oil pan and oil pickup. The question is with the transmission. I think I will need a new computer, but can I use the old wiring harness? What kind of bell housing and clutch and flywheel will be needed? The goals are reliability, better low-end response, and good drivability. Not going racing but I would like to hear a healthy motor. Oh yea, the Lincoln intake points the opposite direction from the mustang. Any takes on that? Thanks for any advise. |
