Default Rear Differental Question, change gear oil at certain mileage?

Are you supposed to change the oil in the rear differential at any certain intervals??? I have had my 65 for about a year now and I don't know if it has ever been changed

Theres only a plate on the back if its a inline 6 car the 8 inch and 9 inch its welded on.If its a inline 6 yes you take the diff cover off if its a 8 inch or 9 theres a drain hole and hill hole in the 3rd member casing.
