You have two choices. 1. The original route or 2. The new way. Going with route number 1 you'll have a tidy sum in parts and the one-finger turning of power-assist but, however original in looks and feel. Feel... that's brings me to option number 2. Rack and pinion. If you're driving the car for fun, this is, by far, the best way to go. Benefits include quicker steering ratio, better bump-steer characteristics, the ability to go manual instead of power because of the ease of turning and the safety of a collapsible steering column.
