Question 1966 Mustang 289 Go fast options?

Does anybody know what else there is than just the basic upgrades! Just curiuos! 66,289, v8! tryning to make it faster

Heads intake cam headers stroker etc etc list goes on.How fast you want and what budget you have remember your tranny and rear end have to hold the power too.

you can always bore it and get oversized crank and cam, plus what andrew listed as well. It really depends on your budget, you have a v-8 block so you can build a racing engine if you have the cash.

yea! I already have a on a 4barrel carburator with performance maniflod intake, and performance heads, its a v8! but im just wondering if theres other performance u can just add on other than basic! and i just want it to get around 300 hp! fast enough to beat street cars!

You need a good camshaft to make full use of your intake and heads. One of those, maybe some shaft mounted rocker arms, and long tube headers paired with a dual exhaust. I'd personally recommend a set of Heddman headers (cheap, $150) and a Magnaflow dual exhaust. All in all, you should expect at least 300 hp from that setup.
