Default Media blasting and priming

Hey everyone-

Im about to start calling around to media blasting shops to get my car blasted and I was wondering since im still planning to do a lot of welding on it should I have them prime it also?

Thank you

Yes, without question. Get it blasted and sealed right away to stop any corrosion issues, then you can work on it where you need to and take as long as you need to. Also the primer helps you see what you are working with.

I would look into the bicarbonate soda blasting,it leaves a residue that stops flash rusting for up to 6 weeks and does not hurt glass or chrome or plastic. My wifes 96 has the bad primer and I am going to blast it myself using this method.

I personally don;t blast anything that is not "naked" but it is personal preference. Like Nick said the bicarbonate soda works great from what I hear and is enviro friendly so you can do it out in the driveway and it just washes away with no harmful effects. If you use sand or glass I would remove all of the rubber and glass before doing so, yes.
