Default New Member. Just bought a 1966 Mustang Fastback!

Hi. I'm Scott. I just graduated from high school this year. This isn't my first project car. I've owned both a 1968 Plymouth Sport Satellite (383 Big Block) and a 1967 Cougar (289 2V). I sealed the deal on a '66 Fastback yesterday. This is a original Tucson AZ car, no rust, original paint with an extremely straight body. Its an A Code, Numbers matching, with pony interior. The original interior is complete, but the headliner is hanging down and the front seats have some tears. The car will run, but it needs a good tune up and the brakes need some work. I'm going to drop the tank before I try run it with gas from the tank.

What do you guys think would be a fair price for this car? I want to see how I did.

Hard to find rusted out for under 5K, so I would say you did pretty good.

Welcome aboard and congrats on a great find. So hard to get anything with little rust or non molested theses days. I would say for 10k you got a heck of a good deal. Get a tank, some tune up stuff and an interior kit and hit the road in that thing.

For Arizona you done good. In California it would have gone for about 3 or 4K. There's a glut of them for sale all over. And appraisals are going down.

I haven't seen a fastback junk for less than 10k. Fella you did well, may seem like a lot of money but that is a good price these days. Doesn't make it right but that is the market.

Now then I want to order 3 from California. And three that condition I wll buy today!!!!!

I will take as many rust free examples as you can ship at that price. I will give you 5k for each that should cover car and shipping. When I become a millionaire I won't forget you.

Looks like a good project. I think the price is pretty fair; enjoy and keep us posted on your progress.

Good buy buddy, and hold on to it, this is why Dynacorn is making the fastback shells because they are so hard to find

I'd say a rust free 1965-1968 uni-body only, is worth 15K easily. So, nicely done. The initial cost might hurt a bit, but you will save a lot of money in the long run.

The cost to media blast and replace metal on my 1966 Fastback is much more than that. Smart move would have been to scrap the project and look for another Fastback, but I didn't want to see another Mustang disappear.

Congratulations and enjoy your new purchase.
