Default help with 5.0/302 HO in a classic Mustang

Hello everyone.......ive got a 65 and just got a Mark 7 for 300 dollars!!!!! the engine and tranny are in good running conditions.

Can I just put the engine and tranny into the car? I know I will have to replace the front suspension (working on that) and I already have the rear end to convert it to a 5 lug.

The oil pan will have to be replaced and a new oil hole will have to be drilled....but what else would I have to do?

If anyone wants the inline v6, the tranny and rear end of the car, for those who care about the numbers....they are for sale.

Joe.

you'll need 289 motor mounts which will allow you to mount the engine in there. trans crossmember may be a problem, you'll need a lot of the wiring and computer from the mark vii. new exhaust-you'll possibly need some custom piping.

are you going to run carb? or do the direct swap we did a fuellie windsor with a mass air computer from a 91 it wasnt to difficult to use the wireing harness we got rid of all the un necessary part of teh harness like the polution part etc carb would probably be easier only because u dont have to worry about clearances.

I want to use the fuel injection system, I like the sound it makes, not a fan of the carb it makes the engine sound like the engine is falling apart, but thats just me.

Does any body know where i can get a transmission crossmember to use on the 65?

Can I use the drive shaft from the mark 7 donor to install the

Can I use the drive shaft from the mark 7 donor with the engine and tranny into the 65?

I bought the rear end from a junk yard, its a 66 8" rear end, but I need to buy the locking diferential and the axles.

Question 1:
Can I just change some of the parts to make the open diferential into a lock type?
Question 2: if not where can I get a good price for a locking diferential?

thanks in advance.

The drive shaft from the mark 7 i double will fit your stock one might if you change the yoke or cut yours down. And by the way theres no such thing as a inline v6 its one or the other.
