Default 1969 mustang mach 1 power steering pump color

Hello and thank you in advance! I am in the process of restoring my 1969 Mach 1, 351W, 4BBL, FMX transmission. I have a power streering pump housing that has a tag ID of

1st line HBA BK
2nd line IF
3rd line 8K 16C

I have been told that if it is a TRW pump the housing was black and if Ford it was blue. I would love to know which it was originally and the correct paint mix number or manufactures code. Thank you for the help.

You are correct about the colors with the pump manufactures and you have the Ford (Thompson) pump by the second line of your tag.

NPD is making thier own formula for the Ford teal color as the one thier supplier had was wrong. It's not released yet but you could call them and find out when they plan on doing so.

Here's others that are similar to the original color as the original did vary slightly between batches, available locally at your auto paint jobber,

PPG DAR 12366 Chesapeake Blue Metallic

PPG DAR 3421 Dark Jadestone Poly

Deltron DAU 4086 Dark Saphire Poly Blue

Duplicolor GM258 (this is a spray can)

I haven't seen these in person but they should be close. I'm one of the ones who notified NPD that thier color was off after restoring my PS pump. Next time it's out of the car it will be repainted the correct color.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
