Default 1966 Mustang 5.0 EFI/AOD swap finally done

FINALLY got my swap done. My 66 coupe has been off the road for 9+ years. It sat in my shop in NC 1998-2005, then I finally decided to get to work on it. My 5.0L engine came from a 1993 30K Mustang, and the AOD trans came from a 1990 Grand Marquis. Initially I was just going to rebuild my tired 289, but then I figured I might as well try for the EFI, after reading up on in for a while. Long story short, I thought getting the engine to run would be the hard part, turns out that was the easiest part. Wiring was a challenge, but I figured it out. In retrospect, the hardest part was making the shift linkage/AOD TV cable work. The brakes gave me some trouble at the end, but I got them bled correctly. I promptly went out and laid some rubber, so the job must be complete. I've asked several questions of AllFordMustangs along the way, so I just wanted to share my good news.
If you're trying to do this project, keep trying! It can be done. I just hope it doesn't take you as long as it does me!

Default Good News!

I'm tickled that you have resurrected the old horse with a fresh new drivetrain!

Thanks for sharing the good news.

See you out there!

Default Good work...

I have a 5.0 EFI with a T5 5speed in my 66 Fastback. You will love that engine in yours.

so you going to post a "stores list" of what all you put in and needed to modify ? That would be interesting to see.
