I bought mine on ebay, I find the ones online are way off color wise. I did find a good site recently that may be helpful because it has pics of the cars as well. 1964 1/2 Mustang Colors

Any decent paint shop would have a book with chips of the original colors. I know that several I worked with in AZ had the books for all the early years.

Hello. If you click on this--->The Care and Feeding of Ponies: Search results for paint codes it will show you the PPG codes for the 65 and 66 paint colors down towards the bottom of the page. Hope that helps.

Keep in mind that the colors on the computer may or may not be accurate - depends on the monitor you are using and with what quality the images were scanned originally. You need to see the chips directly - of course the actual color in the can may vary from the chips as well.

Hi again. That is very true. That's why I always just take the number and tell the paint store that I want the the color with this or that code. The chips are nice to look at if one is trying to decide what color to paint a car, but that really doesn't give you a very good idea of what the car will actually look like. Poppy Red, for example, looks very nice on a chip, looks great on a 69/70 sportsroof (Calypso Coral in 69/70), but looks like someone just clear-coated some red oxide primer or something on a 65/66 car. Not a good look at all. If that is what one is trying to do, then you would pretty much have to look at cars of the same year model and body style that have been painted that color.

Thats what I'm trying to do, choose a color for my 1970 coupe, It's currentlly med metallic blue with a blue interior. I'm switching to a black interior and am having a hard time picking a color. I'm thinking maybe a metallic maroon or a med dark blue
