Depending on the paint manufacturer the shade may vary slightly. Some manufacturers refer to the metallics as polys.
Keep in mind that the primer color underneath will affect the final top color. The darker paints aren't as noticeable as the lighter colors are for obvious reasons but there still could be a paint shift between a gray primer, a red primer or a black primer undercoat. This is why some shops will use a lighter primer tinted to the top color as the final primer coat before sealer (if used) and paint.
