Default 1970 interior lights won't work

Hi Guys and gals..Got a little problem....my dash lights are really dark and none of my interior lites work...I did find some wromg bulbs in the sockets and replaced them, but
still nothing....I was wondering if maybe it could be the light switch itself?..I can turn the swith and the dash lites neither burn brighter any nor dim any....1970 sportsroof ....any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Default try cleaning your headlight switch

The dash lights on my 69 fastback did that too. I took my light switch out of the dash and took it apart and cleaned it really good with a wire brush and put it all back together again and it worked fine. The coil on the switch, which is actually the dimmer, gets corroded and makes a bad connection. hope that helps.

I hope it does. What i also did, is on the point of the "coil" for the dimmer, use a VERY fine sand paper on the point, where it contacts the coil, that way it will make a very good connection. the wire brush may be a little hard to maneuver to get it clean. hope it works.

I sought high and low to an answer about my dash lights being too dim. I installed a new switch and it made it only a slight bit better. What really worked was taking off the old faded blue-green transluscent caps off of every intrument bulb. beautiful! I don't know if the 70 has them.

Default interior lights

Hi have you changed the fuse(the small one) and do not use ceramic fuses, there is to little contact surface. If it dosent help i think your problem is in the back of the fuse box, seperate it from the fire wall and clean it.
