Hello all!
I just love the varity of comments that i get concerning my '65 Mustang. I work in an auto parts store so you know right there that I get all sorts of "tips" and "advice" about my car:
"Oh, you should power EVERYTHING! Windows, locks, brakes, steering, sterio, ect." (I don't think so!)
"I hope that you don't put all that power garbage on your car" (I won't)
"Let me tell you what you need to do....." (like I don't have a clue, it is my car after all!)
"Your car needs painted" (I happen to like the flaking off paint and rust spots, don't you?)
"You should sell it and get your self a Chevy" (already have one, you want to buy it?)
I really like the guys who get all upset when I won't even consider selling it to them:
"Are you selling your car?" (yes, I just forgot to put the sign up. HAha!)
"I am making you a very nice offer, you really should at least consider it" (Umm..sorry, the answer is still NO!)
"You want to trade it for a ____" (Nope)
"I just thought I would stop by and see if you considered my offer" (still NO)
It is really funny when they get all offended that I won't sell them my car. I finally stopped driving it for a while to get one certain guy to stop asking. He would come in no matter what shift I was working, it was as though his only job was to wait for me to come to work and bug me! Well, he stopped in one day and noticed that my car wasn't there. "Hey, where is your Mustang?" and you are going to love my answer "I sold it" I won't tell you all that he said, but he was really mad and let me know. I think I even told him that I sold it for like $500, that really got him going. I never saw him again and I am back to driving it to work!

But I love it when people stop to look or when an older gentleman comes up to me and wants to talk about his Mustang from years past. These people like to just share the love that is the car itself. We chat about all things Mustang and have a great time sharing stories and dreams. Mustangs are a car that everyone respects at some level, even the die hard Chevy people. To own one is to be in a very select club, and I plan on being a life long member!
