Question Child booster seat in 1968 Mustang

I know some of you guys have either been through this or have seen solutions. While my car is not ready for cruising the boys are going nuts every time I work on the car they think TODAY is the magical day. Sadly its still not to the safety requirements of my myself (let alone my wife )
Any suggestions or ideas or even photos to help me out?
TIA,
Steve

Have you looked into any of the 3-point shoulder belts?

Karmustang sells some after-market sets that match your original style belts.

Or you can look at Wescoperfomance, they make a four point system that might work.

I'm trying to figure out the same thing for my 1966 Fastback. Since my car is undergoing a complete restoration, I'm thinking of installing a four point system that anchors in the trunk area. Otherwise my two 5-year olds will be heartbroken if they can't ride in Daddy's "race car".

I've seen Simpson seats that have a four point (straps over the shoulder, waist, and crotch). My plan is to anchor the seat to the existing seat belt. My daughter is getting older now but shoulder straps will be an item soon. Still gotta paint it yet.

We have a '66 fastback, and a few years ago, a friend of my wife gave us a child restraint system to use with our grand daughter. It was basically the back(upright) part of a child seat. It had places to use the regular seat belt to secure it, and then it had its own belts for the child to be straped into. I will see if she remembers where she got it.

Be sure to check your state laws on the regs for child saftey seats. Here in Indiana they have to be in booster seat until they are 40lbs, or 60 inches tall. They way our grand daughter is going she will still be in a booster when she is driving the Mustang.
