Default the new 66 mustang project, lots of pics

In a labor trade, I got a 66 mustang for free!!!! The girl wanted me to pull the drivetrain out of it (her boyfriends 66)....and put the drivetrain in her 66 which had a bad motor. Well I did so, and as payment, the boyfriend signed over the title to the 66 you see here. WOOT!!!

The plans are pretty serious here, since I don't have to run smog. Another friend let me part out his 84 that he couldn't keep any longer...I gave the body free to a kid who is fixing it back up ( 4 eyed style)....and the motor I kept for myself. Free for now, but pay him later kind of thing.

It's a ford racing crate motor with alum gt40's, and a FRESH REBUILT t5 and KC clutch.

so the 66 is getting a crate motor and t5 conversion. I've already purchased the t5 x member, and the clutch pedal assembly. the drivetrain is in my possession now, and install will commence very soon. Last night I pressure washed the motor off. Now, I have to decide the paint scheme for it before install.

the car will get a 3g 130 amp alternator, as well as a FAT 3 row be cool 94/95 style radiator and an electric fan.

I'll be converting my 3.73 turbocoupe rear end to work on the 66, and use 17" late model bullit wheels with the 13" late model cobra disc brake conversion.

gonna be fun!
paint is old and shot, but looks good from far. some signs of rust under vinyl, and a couple of spots under carriage, but nothing super major

it's already had a complete front and rear NEW suspension, and is MANUAL steering

It's got an aqua green near mint interior

You got lucky on that one! They could have sold just the body and paid for a new engine on the 66. I've been looking for a 66 project for a while but right now im stuck with a 69 and a 73 grande.
