I have installed a MII IFS in my 65 but have yet to drive it. I am not a purist and want to mod my car beyond my abilities. The car was originally a 6 cylinder car anyways, not like they didn't make thousands of them. The way I see it is that the car is in far better chape now than it was sitting in the woods when I found it.

I restored my car with the V8 front suspension and converted it over to 5 lug with a 9" ford and added a 302. The driving was fun but the cornering was terrible. Thats when I ripped it apart and added the rack and pinion MII. When I get it back together it should handle like a honda civic. People use the MII style suspension because it is a nice bang for your buck. The suspension is cheap but the outcome of the drivablity is priceless.

For the people that are purist on this site they need to stay in a concours forum.

Heck I'm even going to add a T5 to my car. Anyone want to bash a T5?

Billy

If mine handled like a civic i would cry.Like a corvette or lotus i would be happy tho.I don't bash a mustang 2 kit but some think they will make the car a f1 car and it won't.Its a set up from 40 year old wore out stock stuff but kits like tcp or global west will out handle it.If you want a weekend car go for it if you want a track car it won't work in the end.Nothing wrong with a t5 as long as you don't have over 350hp.

Maybe using the term "civic" the wrong word. I'm simply implying that the car will handle like a sportier car rather than the messed geometry ford had on the 60's mustangs. It should be able to turn on a dime and handle a turn with g's. The older suspension would not and would sometimes walk all over the road.
