Default What is a Boss 302 motor worth?

How much is a running Boss 302 motor worth. I found one in a 68 coupe and wonder how much it should increase the value. Any experts out there?

Does the motor have all matching #'s. If so you'll get a pretty penny.

A B2 in a '68? Check to make sure it really is a B2. They never had a Boss 302 in a '68, so it would have been a transplant. The engine itself is worth some money, but am not sure how much it would if any increase the value of a '68 coupe.

I have done some research and know what to look for to confirm it is a real Boss 302. The coupe is a C code so no it is not a mystical unicorn. I am looking for a dollar figure of what the motor itself is worth. I know pretty well what the coupe is worth. I believe the motor is a real Boss because the lady said her mechanic was very excited when she took it to him because he said it really was a Boss 302. Of course I will confirm that myself. I was kind of looking for a general dollar figure of the motors worth. Is it $1,000 or $10,000. Thanks to all

Thanks Rod,

That is what I was looking for. It turns out it is a HIPO though not a Boss. So if any of you are interested in a 68 coupe with a HIPO for $8,500 let me know and I will tell you where to find it.

Thanks to all.

289 High Performance Mustang - HiPo Mustang Home

It is a C code car though not a K code.

C code is not a HIPO. That term is way overused, and really should be reserved for the K code engine only.

I think the motor may have been replaced with a K codes motor. Not sure though. I never went to look at the car.
