This is kind of a followup to my thread on summer/winter tires.
Until this year I drove an 88 Lincoln Town car and had no trouble in PA where mild winters have been the norm lately. I replaced the big beast with a smaller one, a Mark VII. I'll get by with snow tires, but the New (to us) Mustang is lighter and will be in the hands of my daughter, who is dreading the rear-wheel drive experience. I will have four winter tires on the car and now am looking for some tips for driving in snow. Keeping the gas tank full, puts seven pounds per gallon on top of the rear wheels, and putting a 20 pound bag of salt in the trunk probably will help, but other than that, I haven't a clue.
For example is it normally better to drive the pony in OD or take it off? Just looking for tips and such.
thanks
