Default are 1965-66 mustangs with 260's a rare find?

260 v-8s a rare find? how many 260 cars were produced and when did they stop producing them in the mustang and why? did they come with 3 and 4 speeds and how many horse did they prod9uce? did they come with 4 barrel carbs?

I see the 260 only in the early Mustangs, 1964 1/2. Only in two barrel with the Cruse-O-Matic the only trans option. Rated at 164 hp.

Hello. The 260s were 5-bolt blocks and were phased out in august of 64. They were available with either an automatic, three speed manual or four speed manual, with, as far as I've been able to figure out, the three speed manual being slightly more common than the automatic, and the four speed was as rare as hen's teeth.
