Default 1965-1966 Mustang consoles...

was an overhead console ever produced for the 65-66 mustang? i thought i saw one in a 65 that was going to be in a james bond movie?even if it was a special item can they still be ordered or purchased and are they like the 67-68s? pretty neat is what i thought.

That had to be out of a movie, not a Mustang. There were only the four styles made for 1965 and 1966, the long and short standard models and the long and short consoles for the original Pony interiors which had wood grain rivited to the consoles. The wood grain consoles could not be ordered over the counter and that is why they are so scarce today. A few suppliers made glue on or stick on wood grain but it was not a very good quality.

Overhead consoles were first introduced in 1967. They were never a factory option for '65-66 cars.

I have always thought about the overhead consoles. Can you put one into a 66 coupe, they have the same brace in the center of the roof as the 67 coupe.
