Default 5.0 headers into 1972?

Hello Gents, do you know if the headers that come with the 1988-1992 mustangs would fit along the 302 5.0EFI into a 1972 mach 1? i would like to keep the exhaust from the fox body as it is, it's got an amazing sound not sure if it is the H pipe or the flowmasters

I have a 72 sportroof with a 351W,i am using the 5.0 headers and had to modify one tube on the passenger side to fit well. The 302 is not as wide as the W,so it may fit with little or no mods.

Excellent!, i will let you know after i try stabbing the engine perhaps this weekend, i am wrestling with the T5, the syncro for the 2nd is dented, i might go with an AOD that am getting from a friend as a gift, the Mach 1 originally was an auto but some hack put in there a third pedal but looks like a crap since they brake pedal is big as the auto, also the cutch on the T5 seems to be opposite as the T4 (i got the T5 from the 1991 donor and the T4 came witht the Mach1 lucky me?), but too much hassle for a weekend so i guess i am going to go with the AOD for now,

thanks for your inputs
regards

Hello all, just an update, the headers that come with the 86-93 mustangs WILL NOT fit with the 5.0L/AOD on the 71-73 mustangs, i found the hard way, the passenger fits without problem but the drivers side the place where the header hooks to the H pipe hits exactly where the power sterring gear is, i have two mustangs one still has the manual steering but the gear is also in the way, the solution was to get a long tube hooker headers, modify the H pipe and the rest of the system, it boils down that the fox body exhaust system will not directly bolt on into these bigger mustangs. hope it helps some one doing EFI/AOD conversions on 71-73 stangs

regards
