Default Front end bras for classics

Has anyone had experience using a front end bra on their classic? I read an older thread on the forum and several suggested they can do more damage than good, leaving marks and trapping water. I plan to use one only when traveling fairly long distances to shows - not as a daily thing. I'm deadly afraid of that stray rock chipping my paint or worse on the highway.

What are some good brands that fit a 66 and are they worth it? Thanks for any advice.

Every car i seen with a bra on it messed up the paint from scratchs to holding water.Duplicolor sells a clear spray paint that will wash off i have used that on the hood of most of my cars it works.Rock chips are nothing get a bottle of touch up paint comes with a paint brush in the lid like nail polish you might have to do a few coats but it will fix a rock chip.

This is what I have heard too, but I wonder it that is because most leave the bra on long-term. I am talking about 1-2 hours for a drive to a show. Am I still risking damage to the paint. Anyone out there have any experience using bras on their classics?

My '74 Corvette had a car bra on it when I bought it. The fit was awful, and I remember the area around the pop-up headlights was always coming loose. Plus, there was always the issue of scratching the paint and holding moisture, both of which this particular car bra did quite well.

I threw that thing away when I had the car painted. No way would I buy another.
